What are you thoughts, questions, concerns or advice?

long story short. my partner and i have been together for 2.5 yrs and last april for my bday i went to hang out with my best friend and my ex from high school, we have been platonic friends for 4 years now my current partner thinks i committed an act of unfaithfullness just by going to see/hang out with my ex.What are you thoughts, questions, concerns or advice?
thoughts - that seems a little unfair


questions - did you hang out with that person along? are there any other reasons they might believe this?


concerns - trust is obviously an issue that needs to be addressed


advice - if you can prove it's not true that would help. otherwise you need to talk to your partner and make sure they realise that it's them you care for and you didn't do anything.

Maybe it's because you didn't hang ouy with your partner and they felt ditched.
Well, the best way to understand how your partner is feeling would be to put yourself in their shoes. Just let them you would never do anything to hurt them. Sounds like your partner needs some reasurance.

I think it would have been much nicer if you brought your partner along on your birthday....while your ex was there.


How would you feel if on your partners birthday....they hung out with their ex instead of you? I know I would feel pretty shitty and wondering if something was going on with the other person since I wasnt included. And if you have been together for years...you should have been with your current partner and not your Ex
