What advice did you get from your father or mother that you would like to pass on to your kids?

I find that parents give a lot of advice and mine did as well. The ones you would like to pass on to your kids are the ones that have had the most impact. What advice did you get from your father or mother that you would like to pass on to your kids?
don't date a guy that works in a bar! What advice did you get from your father or mother that you would like to pass on to your kids?
trust your gut instinct, it's almost always right.
From my father: Be kind no matter what someone is doing to you. Kill em with Kindness.

My Mother: don't give your trust people should earn it like money.
From my father - don't be a quitter.

From my mother - don't settle.
I will always support you in whatever decisions you chose to make in your life.
Respect yourself, and do all things, even the tiny things with the utmost integrity. Then, no matter the result, you will be able to hold your head up high.

Love is not words, but actions as well. Demonstrate how you feel to those you love.

Bite your tongue for 20 seconds when you are angry. It will prevent you from saying many things you would regret.

Don't go to bed angry with your spouse. Nothing good comes of dragging out fights. Try to at least come to place of calm understanding, if not resolution.

And, my personal favorite.....if the other kid hit you first, you have my permission to defend yourself to the best of your ability. If you started it, you will be in twice the trouble when you get home. lol
Dont pee into the wind.
The only thing my mom and dad taught me was how NOT to be a parent...
Dad- The sooner you stop worrying what other people think about you, the sooner you'll enjoy your life the way you want to.

Mom- Life is like a long boring walk, every now and then you'll start running and skipping (when life is going good), and there'll be times when you trip and fall ( when everything seems to be going down) but no matter how bad the walk is never give up in yourself and you'll find a way to overcome all the trips and falls in the world.
Never admit to something you didn't do just because someone is intimidating you. Stick to your guns and never give in.
Stay in school don't get married or have baby's in your 20's ..kids today should have fun while they are in school and enjoy the life in there 20's stay out of trouble be respectable to others.
Don't eat yellow snow.
Never do business with family! My dad always told me this, and still does. It can cause a LOT of hurt feelings and sad times. He is living with some residual problems from my grandpa's death 10 years ago. Of his (7) brothers and sisters, only 2 of his sisters and he speak to each other. The rest have gotten completely out of touch with everyone.
Mum used to say,

';This is not mean't for you, as I don't expect you to take my advice. What I'd like you to do is remember it though, so when you find yourself in the same situation with your own children, you'll know just how I feel now, and realise that although you know what you are thinking of saying is right, you will only be wasting your breath and causing friction between you.'; She would then tell me what Gran had told HER, and admit she ignored the advice then, but right now wished she'd been mature enough to handle it.

It worked for me - I think.....
Family first.
Don't have that last drink. You don't need it and you won't miss it.
The KISS principle, Keep It Simple Stupid.
Never mess with Uncle Nader when he's drunk. :-)
Don't talk to strangers...
You can do anything you want to do. You can be anything you want to be. Keeping this in mind, every action has a consequence, but I got to choose my positive and negative consequences and learn from my mistakes.
live your life to the fullest

So im hoping you guys can give me advice that doctors can't hah?

So ever since friday i've had a sore pallet and front of throat back of mouth, now it is 75 percent better but when i swallow i still feel mucus. my parents are doctors and they dont know what it is. My ears hurt occastionaly but other than that i feel fine. i normally have pretty bad allergies but do you guys know if when you have a cold u can just have a sore throat? So im hoping you guys can give me advice that doctors can't hah?
Mucus is generally produced in the sinus cavities and the natural elimination process is the sinus cavities drain to the throat where it is swallowed or gets into the lymphatic system and is eliminated out of the body that way. The ';root cause'; of these problems is typically a tooth infection or toxic liver. Allergies are usually are result of intestinal problems. The intestines dump toxins into the lungs and that is why many allergies affect the lungs. Doctors do NOT understand these connections and are NOT trained in nutrition, so this is most likely why your parents do not understand what is causing these problems. Each mucus membrane contains Candida and when an overgrowth of this happens, this can contribute to the problem. Candida is a necessary growth that helps us eliminate heavy metals from our bodies, but when you eat things that promote it's growth, it gets out of hand and causes many problems, typically starting in the intestines.

The medical community claims that if you get a chronic sinus infection, you will never get rid of it. That is typically because they treat the symptoms of the sinus infection instead of the ';root cause.';

good luck to youSo im hoping you guys can give me advice that doctors can't hah?
Put some hydrogen peroxide in each ear for 10 minutes on each side.Drink ginger tea to ease the pain in your throat and drink plenty of water. You can buy ginger tea at any health food store. You can also buy a fresh ginger root at any large grocery store. Also, take at least two hot showers for the steam. You'll be better by morning.
You probably have a lot of drainage from your sinuses. Gargle with salt water or baking soda and water and see if that helps.

Could you help with some training advice?

I recently purchased hand wraps, velcro strapped gloves for training not sure on the weight.. maybe 12oz, jump rope, punching mitts, and a heavy bag. I'm going to Cancun in a two weeks and want to use this new equipment to get chizzled.. Any suggestions for a workout plan..??Could you help with some training advice?
Use your jump rope often. Go 3 minute rounds on the heavy bag, using fast, light punches with an occaisional power shot. Make your workouts 1 hour long, and work hard enough and dress warm enough to sweat the entire hour. Then drink at least 16 oz of water for each pound you lose in exercise. Try doing 100 jumping jacks, then get down and do 100 crunches. Keep alternating until you can do 10 sets of each.

You can try jogging 3/4 mile, then sprint the last 1/4. Rest 5 minutes, then do it again. Repeat 5 times. Allow cooldown by walking for 2 mnutes after you sprint.Could you help with some training advice?
2 weeks and you want to get chizzled? It takes longer then that to get in ';great'; shape. I would see a personal trainer at the gym in order to get the most out of your two weeks.

Having good manners goes a long way.
Money does not buy you happiness. It's those around us that we love and love us that make us rich.

I don't have children yet but I think the most important advise my parents passed on to us kids is to be compassionate of other people, help others when you can and to never pass judgement.
When unsure of what to do in a situation ask themselves is this going to hurt me or anybody else in any way. If the answer is no then they will not make too many mistakes in their lives.
stay in school %26amp; don't do drugs
to make the most of their life like i wish i did, do all the things they want to do and dont let anything get in the way. live their dream and like you would die tomorrow. do all the things i wanted to do but never got the chance, so i can relive my life through them and be very proud. also to be safe at all times, especially with boys/girls and sex (i get protective of people about those things for irrelevant reasons) and lastly to realise where their prioritys lie and make the most of their family while they can.
Always go with your gut feelings. They are usually correct!!
you must always treat others as you yourself want to be treated....Do unto Others as you would have others do unto you!
Work hard in school, believe it or not you'll regret it if you don't.
No matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.

Can you give me some advice of how to do cartwheels?

i cant do cartwheels i need some advice of how to do them. Can you give me some advice of how to do cartwheels?
You can watch videos of them here: http://aescougarcheer.com/Cheer101/tumbl鈥?/a> It would really help if you work on your handstands and get some cloth strips or something to make yourself a fake cartwheel mat to show you where to put your hands and feet. Don't worry about not getting your legs up in the air right away. Just work on the order of the hands and feet; the rest will come to you eventually.

Good luck! Can you give me some advice of how to do cartwheels?
My suggestion is hand-hand-foot-foot. make sure that your legs are straight and toes are pointed. If you really want to learn, ask some friends or find a dance teacher or gymnastics teacher to help you. I hope this helps!

you should try your best to stay clean so you have more space left

you should always follow the recipe book or bad things can happen

try to keep your hands clean AT ALL TIMES if not you can hert or kill some one like raw meant you need to wash hands before and after

stay organized so you no where everything is very important

also read the recipe first before you start you don't want it to say let it sit and under it would say stir every 5min you know what i mean

make sure before you start have all ingredients before you start

    make perfect measures with anything

do not sneeze on food you might know that but just step away

if you do some thing wrong then you should start overCan you give me some advice on how to become a successful chef? I'm starting chef school?
Cook because you love it, not for money or fame or anything else. Then you will be a great chef. Try your food before it goes out. Have good hygiene. Wash your hands and keep your hair in a net (yes guys too).

Hana xxxHey, I have my driving test on the 5th of february and im so nervous, can you please give me some advice?
Don't be nervous and it is not important what other people think of a failed road test. It is actually very easy. When you go there and start your test don't think about failing just think that you will pass and everything will be okay. When it is all over you will see that it wasn't so bad after all. Good luckHey, I have my driving test on the 5th of february and im so nervous, can you please give me some advice?

I only ask because I'm going back to work now and won't be on answers anymore, hope I helped a few people at least.. :)Have you actually gotten good advice on here?
I have received a lot of help here at Yahoo! Answers. Before I ask a question, I always do a search for my problem. Isn't is funny how we think our questions have never been asked only to find out that we are not unique. I have been helped and rather quickly. Usually I do not have to wait for days but only minutes. Kinda like yelling from your room to someone in the other room and then they say, ';juat a minute';. There is always someone to help us. Thank you for your participation by being someone who will step up to the plate and give an answer. Please don't be a stranger here. There is always the days off that you can return. Good luck with your new job.Have you actually gotten good advice on here?
Not good advice, but I did get some great information
yeah ive had a bit of good advice, but not much!
    yeah...

I've gotten good answers and advice...

also - Modestly but honestly - I've given some REALLY GOOD advice.
I've been offered great advice the few times I've asked a question and always enjoy reading everyone's blurbs. Hey - just because you're going back to work doesn't mean you can't be on here any longer (there's always the lunch hour!).
I've always gotten good advice, especially when I've asked a computer problem.
    Answer: Yes

But this isn't the kind of question that helps people.
Once in a while I get some decent info, but I'm wondering if it's worth the time and rigmarole.

Complain about everything the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Don't forget to suck up to the boss every chance you get, also

always make others look bad in front of you. Blame others for you're mistakes.

And always always take credit for someone Else's work.

Follow these business practices and you ll be on you re way to the top....I am about to begin my new job. My first after college. What advice do you have about fitting in?
To thine own self be true.... Sorry, I guess that was Shakespeare's advice! Seriously, though, the best way to fit in is to be yourself. Be willing to learn, avoid office politics as much as possible (often they are not completely unavoidable), and be true to yourself (meaning that you don't let anyone make you do something you know to be wrong or immoral).
Get people talking about themselves and only tell them about you if they ask.

    People love good listeners.
try to avoid gossipping and the best thing of all dun act be yrself so that they will feel easy... try to be friendly by said morning to them.. something you must take note open yr eye wide to see which want you trust before said anything gd or bad..

Anyone want to give some advice? How many times has this happened to you?

I feel like its impossible to know when you are in love. I have thought I was in love at least four times in my life. I always just jump to the conclusion that I am in love because the relationship is new. I now have a new relationship with a friend I have had for two years. We just admitted our feelings to each other while he is over in Iraq. Any one have any tips for me? So that maybe I wont have another miss. Thanks for all answers. Also how many times have you done this?

Anyone want to give some advice? How many times has this happened to you?
Love, true love, is a tricky thing to spot. Sometimes you have it and dont see it till its gone, and sometimes you think you have it only to find out you didnt.

First thing is realize that almost everyrelationship has its honeymoon period when you are new in it and things are great, that not love, that just enjoying being with someone.

A way to tell if you are truly in love is when no matter what you can work things out, and that they stick with you not only through the good times, but the really bad.

Your friend in Iraq, thanks to him for serving, may just want to be with someone cause he is so far from home. Not that that is a bad thing or I dont think you should give it a try. Just take things slow and enjoy being toghther and dont rush anything. Love is a lifetime endevor.

honestly.. im 26 and i still havent lost mine... im still waiting for the right person. im not gonna just sleep with anyone who comes along, thats pitifulNeed Advice How Old where you when u lost your virginity and where and with who?
I just turned 16 and it was not on prom. It was when my parents were not home in the daytime (they were working)
I really don't see how telling you about my sex life will help ..but if she is questioning it ..she may not be ready
um, well, i'm fifteen and a virgin, so i may not be the best to ask. but, i think she should wait till she's more mature and he's more mature.
    1) i was 13 so i think its good that she waited this long so tell her its okay.

    2) at his house

    and

    3) it was with my boyfriend with whom i was in love with

tell her that this is a big step and ask her if she really loves him
Nope... not always in hotels, and not always on prom night. I could tell you... and you could tell her... but that really will not make the time *righter* or *wronger* for her. Operating on the premise that the *first* is special... and that her boyfriend is special and important to her... if she were my sister, I'd tell her to ask herself the following questions:

    1) Does she trust him/love him/desire him/want him to be a permanent part of her intimate memories for the rest of her life? There is only one chosen first for each of us...

    2) Is there planning for sufficient protection against sexually transmitted disease and pregnancy?

    3) What does she want from this encounter? Is a hotel room a place that they will feel comfortable enough to explore and express themselves? Is the setting private and *special* enough for her?

    4) What does *ready* mean to her? Are there any outstanding *not sures* in her mind when she takes a good look at her list?

And a question to a big sister (I happen to be one as well! :)...

Is she looking to you for answers, permission, advice, or a need to share a special moment? That may affect the outcomes and what you take to her as advice. Best wishes to all...
I was 19 and it was on my wedding night. Yeah. . . .I was a virgin when I got married and I was WAY too young to be getting married. If she does choose to do so then make sure you tell her to be safe.
I lost mine in college. I regretted how and where I lost it .. and with whom. tell her to wait. It will be worth it.

    Morg
lol actually i was 17, i met the guy at an after prom party and we did it like a month later. She's almost an adult, i think 17 is a pretty good age, i dont regret it. And a year and a half is a long time to be with a guy! But if she is questioning it then she probably should not do it, maybe the guy is pressuring her?
I was 16. My first time was after a night at a county fair in the front seat of my dad's big Pontiac. We were parked on a secluded backroad. It was a beautiful moonlit night. I wish I could have appreciated it even more than I did at the time.
Wow, your lucky she has waited this long, not to many people wait that long any more, if she has been with him that long, and loves him, and feels that he is a good guy, and she is mature enough for it , than tell her to go for it, but use protection, but really if she has waited this long, she might as well wait to marriage, Kudos to her! I was 17 and it was with a boyfriend that I had been dating for 4 months prior, It was in my room, at my mom's house....

What advice you would like to give to English cricketer Marcus Trescothik?

Can we call him Marcus STRESScothik?

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/sport…What advice you would like to give to English cricketer Marcus Trescothik?
    The man is seriously ill.

He needs to stop trying to overcome the illness and just accept that he has it. He can no longer travel overseas and he shouldn't even think about it until he's 100%.

Reading about Trescothick's condition made me think about the courage (or stupidty!?!) Trescothick had trying to play in the Champions League. His condition makes him feel lonely, depressed and unable to train. It has been said that having this condition at times makes you feel that your in a dark room alone with no windows or doors.

It's a sad situation for a great playerWhat advice you would like to give to English cricketer Marcus Trescothik?
I felt very happy when I heard that Trescothick is coming to India, I was even more happy when I saw him playing in CL-T20 and enjoying the Cricket. But sadly he couldn't continue his tour due to his stress problems.

All I can say to him,

    ';Marcus, you did a brave job by deciding to come to India and played 2 matches. Just continue your domestic Cricket in England, you are just an amazing Cricketer to watch.';
I think it is a shame that you all take the p*ss out of him. He can't help what happened to him and he tried his best to play a part in the CL. It is also a shame because being English I know that Marcus is still the best one day batsman we have in the country alongside Pietersen so maybe all you people who I presume are Indian or Pakistani hypocrites should just leave him alone and worry about your own teams.
I'll tell him true Cricket fan know about your class. So don't worry if you play well or not in overseas we still support you.

@Big Willy : Excellent punch buddy. He is a talented player. Even there are fans for him in India like me.

@Kookee : Right Buddy. We need to critise a player on his form and not on his illness. Even the top contributors are making shame on him. Its very sad.
    1) Get some proper treatment because the doctor you're seeing at the moment obviously isn't doing anything for you.

    2) Stay away from planes.

    3) Get a grip.
Don't go home, send the opposition home !
Maybe the CL will be in England next year m8.

    Heads up.
I would tell him to stay with his family %26amp; forget cricket. His health is more important.
Don't give up at any point in ur life try try and try and atlast u will achieve ur goal.
And a happy Diwali to you. Seriously, maybe he should retire and take up golf or something.
    Retire.
Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
    Enough is enough!
Come on the Y!A cricket section.
    nothing
    Poor Tresco ! :(
    Be strong
    just retire
    Very good pun.

Advice: Please do not hold any bat in future and never come near any cricket ground.

Why do you feel a need to give advice?

should someone tell someone else what they should do in a situation when their own life is a mess? or if they have made the same mistake? what is it that gives humans the desire to spread their ideas? why does everyone believe they know the right answer? Why do you feel a need to give advice?
Giving unwanted advice is unwise. The same is true with advice given to someone who is not capable to understand or appreciate it. The following sums it up in a poetic language.

';The wise are they that speak not unless they obtain a hearing, even as the cup-bearer, who proffereth not his cup till he findeth a seeker, and the lover who crieth not out from the depths of his heart until he gazeth upon the beauty of his beloved. Wherefore sow the seeds of wisdom and knowledge in the pure soil of the heart, and keep them hidden, till the hyacinths of divine wisdom spring from the heart and not from mire and clay.';Why do you feel a need to give advice?
They don't believe they know the right answer, they believe they can help. so what? get over it! maybe its fun. when somone asks, it means they feel the need to simply because they don't know! when people answer, it feels good to help. it is good karma.
I give advise ';only'; if asked, or if I can help prevent someone from hurting themselves. Advice comes from someone who knows what they are talking about from personal experience.

Does the person giving the advice have an underlying motivation, or is it 'independent'? There are some individuals that truly believe they know the right answer. Unfortunately, that's not so; you can make up your own mind based on your own results, before coming to a conclusion on a particular piece of advice. ni ni....
Some feel the need to give advice when they are asked for it, others give it because they're more experienced and think they can help, still others give it out of a sense of superiority or wanting to be in control. We give it to our children, little or big, to try and save them from mistakes. It never works.
Self-importance. They have a need to boost their own sagging, limp ego, so if they give someone advice the more important they feel. If the person takes that advice, the more the ego of the advice giver inflates. If that advices turns out to be stupid and dead wrong, the advice giver of course takes absolutely no responsibility. After all it was simply advice.
I seldom give advice unless the person appears open to it. I strongly feel that everyone is entitled to go to hell in their own way.
I understand that you are going for a walk in the woods tomorrow. There is a place covered with leaves, making it hard to see, that will cause you to fall in a 20 foot deep hole, so be careful.............. I've been there but I would not want to tell you what to do....................
When I'm asked by someone what I think or if someone asks for my advice.... I will give them advice. I give advice because I've gone through a similiar situation. If I can help someone get through something easier (because I learned from the hard way)then I will give them advice. When I give advice I don't think it's neccessarily the right answer...I'm just giving some insight. The person can take my advice or leave it.
When we give advice to others it is really (subconsciously) our way of giving that advice to ourselves. We only need to give advice to others when we don't take heed of our own inner wisdom and truth. We do have the right answers, but only for us. If we all just followed our own advice we would all be much better off I think.
I am not trying to give advice here...perhaps some questions in here were on my mind too once and I would like to know what others answer to that question...giving advice is really tough...we are merely exchanging opinions...
well i give advice if someone asks for it. most of the time it's a lot easier to solve someone else's problem rather then deal with your own life. you know what you have to do yourself, you just get so caught up that you convince yourself it's impossible to figure out.

people want to be heard, they want people to see their point of view, and if someone can relate, that's great.

your sharing your point of view right now and I'm telling you want i think. people need to be reassured by other humans, makes them feel like their opinion is worth something.
we humans are social beings, not only do you we NEED people around us....we WANT people with us....when we give advice...we are helping a fellow human being overcome something...even if you yourself could not. Sometimes people give advice so that they will feel needed...in the sense that it was you who helped someone through a rut. People CHOSE to give advice because it seems like the right thing to do
I do not claim nor have I ever claimed that any answer I might give is correct OR accurate!

The whole point of this site is an outlet for some to ask, others to answer, others both. Insight, intelligence, experience is willing to be shared by many, (many times pearls being cast before swine) and without expectations of gaining anything in return other than offering assistance to fellow human beings. Ones life being a ';mess'; doesn't mean their advice is wrong or unusable or doesn't have merit or meaning or substance or validity or value.

One of my questions is: Why do so many people ask things on here, often times extremely idiotic common sense things then complain about the answers or types of answers?

I know that many of my answers have actually helped and made a difference in some way. Its by choice however, I have no control over how any particular answer is perceived.
It makes people feel better about themselves. Look at how this forum works. You ask a question, people answer it, and the best answers are rewarded. I am not answering this question to give you pleasure (indeed, I have no way of knowing if you will ever read this) but rather to please myself.

People like to be recognized. Back when people lived in small communities, you knew everyone, and everyone knew you. Especially in today's world, there is a great feeling of isolation and anonymity and by helping strangers, you gain some form of recognition, a sense of being important.
It is much better to get some ideas than none at all. If you said hello and never got an echo back you would have to figure you are all alone and that would not be a good thing.
because it gives you some sense of validity that you have control of your life, when you really don't. because it makes you feel like you are not alone in your own mess-- that other people create the same mess and then you don't feel too bad about your mess.

But i think people like to hear advise, even though 90% of the time they don't listen to it. I think people already know the answer, but they look to others advise as guidance or food for thought when they make some sort of decision in their life.

i guess its just part of sharing the human experience...
For one people ask you to give advice so you try right. I think it is human nature for people to want to help and feel like they are smart. It can be good for someone to give advice if they have been through the situation before then they have expirence. People like to be listened to so they try to give advice wheather they pull it out their butt or have first hand knowledge. Everyone wants to be a doc phil.
You'll get 2 types on here. The people that feel the need to spout off their opinionated drivel...or the types that have been in a certain situation and want to warn others.Anyways, you can tell the difference if you use your gut.
Because they are human and it is part of their nature (EGO). We like to talk about ourselves and will flap our lips to anyone who will listen.

If you would be prepared to offer me advice how to speak to my community mental health worker will you answer?

Since January 2005 I have been meeting with a community mental health worker. Her organization is a subsidized housing outfit which supports homeless people. I am a man from the suburbs who lucked onto the waiting list for this organization. Last autumn, 2006, I moved into a homelessness unit. This is my second unit with the organization but my first with my present worker. During the months before I took a unit, she showered me with kindness. Now that I am in the unit, her attitude has changed to include moments of meanness or cruelty, including derisive insults pointed at me and other people in my life. I am pressed to keep these appointments. We meet in public at a diner, and the organization pays her a supplement for gasoline; however I suspect we are out of bounds strictly-speaking in terms of meeting the requirements of meeting at home and going to see doctors. I think my worker would even like me to pay her for gas to go out for coffee with me. What is your advice? If you would be prepared to offer me advice how to speak to my community mental health worker will you answer?
Ask her directly if you have offended her in some way. Ask her why she prefers to meet in public instead of in your home. I was a public mental health worker and while I never was unkind to any of my clients, sometimes there were things about their homes that intimidated me. Just be honest and direct, don't accuse or challenge. If you really want to understand what is going on ask.If you would be prepared to offer me advice how to speak to my community mental health worker will you answer?
My advice would be to quit being a social leach. Start pulling your weight and shoulder your responsibility to pay taxes like the rest of us. I'm tired of supporting your social lameness. So, get off your butt and start accepting your responsibility to the rest of society.

Any advice on how to play the trumpet when you have an overbite

I have an overbite and its very hard for me to get a good tone any tips?Any advice on how to play the trumpet when you have an overbite
My sister plays the trumpet and she had an over bite when she started playing. All you have to do is play it like you normally would and get used to it. Practice a lot to get good tone even with the overbite. Another tip would be maybe trying a bigger mouth piece. One more thing might be you may want to try switching to french horn. My band teacher plays the french horn but used to play the trumpet. She has an overbite and she said that horn is better to play with an overbite than the trumpet.

Hope that helps and good luck!Any advice on how to play the trumpet when you have an overbite
    well, you could get braces.

Also, you might want to work on your embochure, try using more upper lip, or more lower lip. It takes about 6 months to get used to a new embochure, so check with who ever is teaching you wheather or not you should change it or not.

If your tone is bad, you might want to try changing the amount of slack in your jaw.

  • Are there certain people on here that you deliberatly avoid answering their questions or taking their advice?

I have noticed that there seems to be alot of cliques here on Yahoo Answers. Like the spankers vs. non-spankers, the stay-at-home-moms vs. working moms, those who use daycare vs. those who hate daycare.

Do you make it a point to take a mental note of certain peoples names on here, who are judgemental or just plain hateful, and avoid them? Are there certain people on here that you deliberatly avoid answering their questions or taking their advice?
I avoid questions that are really badly written. Really I just can't take a certain level of net lingo, no sentences, bad spelling, and bad grammar. But in general I don't avoid answering people's questions because of their other answers.

I do have to say there is one person who is annoying in their answers, was a complete know-it-all about everything to do with breastfeeding and child rearing while she was still pregnant AND had a really, really annoying photo that I would give thumbs down to even though I probably wouldn't if it were someone else. Are there certain people on here that you deliberatly avoid answering their questions or taking their advice?
No. The only people that bug me are the ones THAT POST IN ALL CAPS.

Otherwise I take no mental note of who writes what and take each answer one at a time.
i actually tend to make it a point to read their judgmental answers, especially the holy rollers and the anti choice bunch. Not to sure why, just love reveling in other peoples idiocy i guess.
There are a few people that I like to read their answers because I think they give well-thought-out answers, and there are times when someone asks such a funny question that I look back on their other questions, but other than that - I usually don't notice whose question I am answering. I have days where I enter into the controversial stuff and days where I don't want to be bothered!
I visit his board quite frequently and I have personaly never really payed to muc attention to whos q's i'm answering let alone weather they saty at home, spank or go to d.c. I'm personally a SAHM, who BF's and doesn't spank but thats me ad thats what works for me and my family and thats not going to work fr everyone else and I realize this and have never really payed attention...but now you have me intrested in these so called cliques!
There are some people who write advice to get voted the best answer when the advice they give is ridiculous. Usually, it talks about how a child doesn't feel loved or some other liberal theory that has no validity. I would avoid that type of advice for sure.
I honestly do not avoid certain people or their advice. I don't even know if a person has asked more than one question I have answered or not. I do though look at the question and if I do not know what to say then I just hit home. I honestly have no idea who is who.
personally i dont avoid anyone.. i dont pay much attention to some of the people i just look at the advice and stories i believe everyone has their own opinions and if your asking for answers on here you have to be a little open minded.. and myself i am a non-spanker stay at home mom with really no problem with daycare but its not for me..

If you listen to ';mrs-J'; advice, no one will remain married except her in her'; flawless'; marriage. What do you?

think? If you listen to ';mrs-J'; advice, no one will remain married except her in her'; flawless'; marriage. What do you?
nothing is perfect, and some people can live with that and others can not. Happiness comes and goes. Love lasts forever if it is true! Family is great to have, you can not have to many of them except around Christmas when you have to buy them all gifts. Good friends are hard to find so if you find one keep them! And staying married is not all that easy at all times. What do you think about this quote by the misogynist WC Fields? Solid, practical advice - or not?

An interviewer asked Fields the secret of ensuring a (male person's) future wealth:

    Fields responded

    ';Yes, when the little beggar is only 10 years old, have him castrated and his taste buds destroyed. He'll grow up never needing a woman, a steak, or a cigarette. Think of the money saved.';

http://louisville.edu/~kprayb01/WCQuote.鈥?/a>What do you think about this quote by the misogynist WC Fields? Solid, practical advice - or not?
I think it was said tongue-in-cheek. Another one he is said to have quoted was '; Anyone who doesn't like dogs or kids, can't be all that bad'; I'm a cat person, so I got a chuckle out of that one, but I don't dislike children. What do you think about this quote by the misogynist WC Fields? Solid, practical advice - or not?
How does that make him a misogynist? This statement, in no way, professes hatred of women. But my guess is that you're one of those women who likes to point fingers and toss that word around loosely. Heaven forbid if he actually said something critical of women.

Obviously this advice is not the least bit practical or remotely solid. I don't know how you or anyone possibly could think it is, as opposed to a joke. I do think you like the part about castration, though.

I also think you are just trying to sound smart by using the word misogynist in a sentence and quoting W.C. Fields. Nice try.
Hollywood doesn't make them like Fields anymore. He knew the importance of having enough booze money:

    When the Japanese struck Pearl Harbor, Fields brought a hand truck to a liquor store and bought 6 cases of gin. When a friend saw him returning, he asked why he bought 6 cases. Fields replied. ';I think it's going to be a short war.';

    Always carry a flagon of whiskey in case of snakebite. And furthermore, always carry a small snake.';

    ';A man's got to believe in something. I believe I鈥檒l have another drink.';
    ';WOMEN and MARRIAGE

    (NOTE: Fields was a misogynist bitter all his life from his failed marriage).';

    http://louisville.edu/~kprayb01/WCQuote.鈥?/a>

    Try investigating the provided LINK.

People are so lazy these days.
To be fair, in Fields' time, women weren't exactly encouraged to make their own money. Still, he could have been a little less negative about it.
No. He would merely need a shrink, and in the long run it would be far more expensive.
it sure would have save me a lot of money but i would not think it the best way.

What is the one piece of advice you could give someone?

Be the old Person that Said i should not have done that instead of the old person that said i wish i would have done live life don't fret loosing it because the safer you try to be the less you will have one and never deny someone a bowl of rice but deny them a bowl to give it to you with

if you think you are getting too old too fast then you are thinking to muchWhat is the one piece of advice you could give someone?
imagine your life as a delicate flower. Now imagine that that everyone else has a flower (only one ofcourse) and that once again it is super delicate and fragile. Each of these flowers is totally unique. Pretend that this flower is the most important thing in the world to you. There also happens to be elements such as rain and wind that try to destroy your flower. You have to guard your flower, water it everyday, give it some sunlight, and dont let the cat eat it. Now lets get out of pretend mode and let me translate this. Your life is very fragile and can easily break, you have to be careful and make the just and right decisions to succeed in life if you do flourish in life and take good care of yourself life will be a blast!

';everybody wants to see you fail,if you are happy it will make people unhappy, this is why people put you down, including your own family.Even if they do love you.If sombody insults you about somthing they are doing it because its what would hurt them.Once you see through all of this its hard for anybody to try and keep you down because you are aware of their intention :) if you know exactly why they are putting you down it becomes obvious that they are just trying to make you feel as misserable as they are.

I used to be affected by people putting me down and i ended up depressed until i learned to raise my level of mind and learned about people and why they do and say the bad things they do.I never used to understand but now i do and i'll never be depressed again.

This is the best advice anybody has given me,this same advice i got from the guy who taught me '; a problem cannot be solved at the same level of mind that created it'; you can also use this to help you understand why people feel the need to try and put you down and stop you from reaching your goals, because they are at a low level of mind.:)

the road to happyness aint much of a road, more like a, tube filled with grape juice filled with happy jelly fish, drifting through the tube, not a care in the world, unless they are found by the jelly fish hunters, than the hunters chase the jellyfish into their cave of infanant wonders and the hunters steel their jukebox and sell it on ebay. jellyfish hunters usualy have realy good status on ebay, so the stuff they loot sells pretty fast, and the jelly fish never have time to get it back. then they're all lonely, cuz jellyfish love music, but only country, they hate hip hop cuz it makes their tentacles twitch, witch is actually pretty uncomfertable, so they listen to other stuff. jellyfish like loud music, especially when they want to dance. then they invite all their jellyfish friends and throw a part and start dancing, but then their parents come home and they all get busted, and they...
Not a huge fan of books, so never really liked the library. I only go there when I need a place to work on something, so I don't see it in the best light.

After work you should smoke a joint, then listen to techno while eating a burrito with nachos on the side.
    are you on drugs? lol

I do not think of the library as a spiritual place. its a place to learn and relax.

Hello and Happy New Year, for me it is the ones that ask questions about having sex. Some want to others are being pushed and are scare, and it breaks my heart because some answers given to the young are from the young and telling them to go ahead I mostly stay in this forum because of this I can not get them all but I would surly like to they are so vulnerable, and need to be loved and this is the way they think they can get it.My kids are grown and they always came to me even if it was embarrassing for them they wrote it on paper. :) I love doing this I take them to bed with me in my prayers and when they answer back and say thanks that really helped me or now I understand, then my heart smiles and tears sometime come you know that feeling God gave us when we help someone ? That's a blessing in it self so I will be here long as I can trying to save our kids.

Has anyone auditioned for the National Youth Theatre in England? Do you have any advice for me please?xx?

I have an audition on February the 21st, in Greenwich. I would really appreciate some advice on how to stay calm and hopefully succeed. I would like help with which monologue you think would most be helpful and even what to wear. ThanksHas anyone auditioned for the National Youth Theatre in England? Do you have any advice for me please?xx?
You need to be yourself so just dress and choose a monologue that goes with your personality or they'll see that you're uncomfortable. The most important thing is to not be too disappointed and not give up if you don't get in this year because it's extremely competitive. My sister was strongly encouraged to audition her drama teacher but it still took her 3 attempts to get in. Good luck!!!

  • College advice: What would you have done differently?

What I am looking for is advice about College...

If you had to start over what would you do differently? What would you do the same?

What's one thing you wish someone would have told you before you began your college?

What advice to you have for Seniors graduating high school this coming June (2010)?College advice: What would you have done differently?
If you had to start over what would you do differently? What would you do the same?

I would have started at a junior college instead of going straight to 4yr. I would have gotten my drivers license and a car. I would have majored in anthropology and economics in stead of speech pathology. I would have gotten up for every class, studied and made sure I got nothing less than an C in each class. I would have found friend who study and not slackers ( this is hard to do, slackers don't MEAN to be slackers, but it becomes a Habit).

I would have mastered my bad habits and lived with more integrity ( I lied to myself, even when I was failing, and didn't study as hard). No excuses. Managed my distractions ( I swear I had an internet addiction when I was in college).

Its hard to think about the good things, but I will try:

    I made friends

I stepped outside my comfort zone

    the memories are awesome!

What's one thing you wish someone would have told you before you began your college?

Actually, its not so much what they would have told me before, but having someone to give me tips DURING would have made a big difference.

Don't major in something for money unless I know its what I want to do. Nursing is fine and dandy if you like math , science, people and working long hours. Its not if you hate these things....

Know the educational requirement for the job you want . Sometimes a bachelors degree is not enough to find a job in some fields.

Understand different industries, compare it to your likes and see what will be around in the next 10 or so years. Taylor your major towards what the job market will need in the next 10-15 years AFTER you graduate from college.

Understand the importance of economics and how an economy works. If you understand how an economy works, you are much better off regardless of what kind of degree you have. About a decade ago, ppl could find a job doing about anything they want. Now , the only industries hiring are business, education and health. But if you saw the economic mess coming, you could have changed fields. ( granted, you need to have vision to see certain things... The future belongs to those who can visualize it....)

You can study anything in graduate school, even if you didn't study that as an undergrad. So don't sweat your undergrad major, make sure its something you can get A's and B's in.

    For example:

Imagine this, you are a business major as an undergrad. You have to take 16 business classes in order to graduate. Once You graduate from undergrad college, apply to graduate school, and realize ppl who didn't major in Business would only have to take the 8 classes in order to qualify for the graduate program you want. Just 8 core classes. So you worked you butt off taking more classes, where someone who majored in ...lets say art...can take half of what you did. You can bet that art student had a better GPA and experience in college than you did. This is why I say not to sweat your major, a good GPA , internships etc is better for you.

What advice do you have for Seniors graduating high school this coming June (2010)?

Good luck!! Don't sweat your undergrad major, as most of you will have to go to graduate school anyway to become marketable. Try to get at least a 3.0 in college. Most ppl don't graduate in 4 years, so if you want to , make sure you have a plan that works for you and stick with it, or else you will be on the 6 year plan. Avoid Debt like the plague. Here's a tip, only take out in loans 10% of what you would make once you graduate.

    For example:

LETS say you want to be an accountant.

They make about 50,000 dollars a year. 10% of that is 5,000 dollars. This means you should go for no more than say.....6,000 dollars. Don't be one of those ppl who has 50,000 dollars in loans and then cant afford to pay that Stuff off!!! ONLY TAKE OUT LOANS BACKED BY GOVERNMENT!! Private loans ( say credit cards) will charge interest rates that will put you in the poor house. Gov loans for education have low interest rates.

Find a good adviser. Be careful of large class sizes. Don't skip class!!! Study!!! DONT get unhealthy ( it will make you procrastinate). Have personal initiative.

The first year of college is fun, but the point is to learn something so you can do once you are done with school. After freshman year, buckle down like heck.College advice: What would you have done differently?
I'm a Teacher. I think I would have majored in Liberal Arts, done a study-abroad, and an internship in some other things, then gone for my MAT. That would have given me more varied experiences... I ended up getting a Master's degree anyway, and as it was in education, a lot of it was the same stuff (just with higher academic requirements) as I learned in undergrad. I know teachers who have done it both ways (the way I did it, BSEd, and BA then an MAT) and I think the ones who did it BA then MAT are better prepared to be teachers than people who get out of college at 22 with a BSEd and start teaching.

Maybe it's just that the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence though.

I guess I'm saying I would have taken a more round about way of getting there, which would have given me some different experiences. The shortest distance between two points isn't always the best path.
I would have done something to prevent myself from getting depressed a month before college and completely changing my plans to something below my level.

Savor the time you have before you have to start financially supporting yourself - if you're like me, you'll miss it constantly, sometimes to the point of being unable to do anything else.
I would have nailed more sorority girls.
I'm always tempted to say, ';I wish I'd done better in my classes and had better grades.'; Except that I ended up at a really, really fantastic, top 10 liberal arts school (Davidson). It wasn't my first choice...Harvard was my first choice...but I've come to believe I'm in a place that is a much better match for me. So, when I look at the 2.7 gpa on my final high school transcript, I guess I don't really have room to regret not trying harder. Am I advising you to slack off? Definitely not. Try your absolute hardest, give it your all, and have fun! But I guess the point I'm trying to make is that if you don't get into your first choice, don't worry. Your second choice is probably a better match, anyway! Even if you tour, attend classes, and spend the night on a campus, your experience at the school as a student will probably be very different from your experience as a prospective student.

I wish someone had told me to relax a bit more and enjoy life. I spent a lot of time hating high school. I also fell into the ';you have to take all APs and challenge yourself'; thing. Trust me, I would much rather have taken Forensic Biology than AP Bio. In retrospect, that's one thing I might change. Take what interests you and what you'll be good at. Don't skimp on requirements, but you know...don't kill to get into Calc BC if you hate math.

Get your applications done ASAP and then find a way to keep yourself really, really busy until decisions come. Trust me, they will come, and it'll be much quicker than you think. Before you know it, you'll be walking across that stage to get your diploma. You'll see a lot of people freaking out, but honestly, the more you go with the flow, the more you'll enjoy the senior year experience.

Also, make sure to visit all of the colleges you apply to, or at the very least, to the ones that accept you. You need to be absolutely sure that there's not some huge reason why you shouldn't be at a particular college before you agree to pay the first semester's tuition.

As for next year, sign up for easy classes your first semester of college. First semester is a HUGE adjustment, especially socially, and a lot of kids go off the deep end. Even if you're thinking of taking intense premed classes, perhaps resist the urge for a semester so you don't feel like you're drowning under all the changes.

Also, same as in high school. If you're not an English person, don't take Lit Criticism to fulfill that requirement. Take baby-English like Young Adult Lit or Popular Literature. If you're terrible at science, take baby bio or baby chem or physics...Astronomy...Biology of Plants...Special Topics in Biology, Chemistry of Food and Drink, etc. If you're not a foreign language person, take the language you took in high school so you're already familiar with the basics. Don't make it any harder than it has to be!

be patient, encourage the female in question to seek counselling and expect to be confronted with problems from her past relationship it is unavoid ableWhat advice would you give a man dating a woman who was abused by her ex husband?
There may be too much ';emotional baggage'; to deal with.
That the woman will most likely have baggage from the abusive relationship and should go into therapy before he marries her.
well one issue that may affect the new relationship is she might not be too trusty with guys and she might be afraid still but id recommend just taking it slow and showing her that your a good guy and your not bad just try showing her that there still good guys out there and not every guy she meets will treat her the same as her ex husband did
She might have alot of issues.

Watch out that she doesn't go apesh!t on you someday %26amp; cut your sausage off in your sleep.
be patient with her. not only tell her but show her everyday that you are different then the other men she has dated. be there for her through the good times and the bad because the last thing she needs is another dirt bag in her life. I am going through the same thing with my girlfriend right now she has been mentally and verbally abused all her life and is shy about trusting anyone she comes in contact with. so please just be patient and ride out the storm and enjoy the good days to the fullest extent you can.
I would have to say just be extremely patient. I know in my case, with my fiancee now, I am still having a hard time getting used to someone being nice to me....I don't know how to handle it....and it takes alot of patience to deal with me, because I am just learning how a real relationship is supposed to be...Not to mention that I am not good at talking about my feelings with someone either....from years of being ignored and abused...So, those could be a couple of issues..Like I said, just be patient....and understanding.
My husband is the reason I got out of my last relationship. My ex turned mean and abusive and Lee was my friend and helped me move on, in more than one way. I can say that I still have trust issues, and I get my feelings hurt when we fight more than maybe I should because I am so use to being run into the ground. The main advice I can give you is to NEVER raise your hand to her. Lee knows I would kill him if he did, there's no way I am living through that again. Other than that, show her that there are good guys out there and that you one of them. Which I can already tell you are since you asked this question.

It's a great concept. The trick will be in creating the website so that it converts visitors to sales and marketing it properly. If you don't know about marketing or running a profitable website business, you should really look into getting some information products. Try:

How to List a Domain Name

There are two principal steps to make your website on the internet and registering/booking a domain name is the number one.

A domain name builds the address of your site and can end in . com, . net, . org, . info, . us, . biz, . tv and further.

Directly afer you have registered your name, you will pick a web host (2nd step). The web host is the guts of any website as this is where you build and publish your pages, build purchase fillings, insert service and preserve your site.

How to Select the Best Domain Name

If being in the foremost search engines (Yahoo!, MSN, etc. ) is tremendously essential to you, I extremely urge you index a name that includes your major keywords as an alternative of your enterprise name.

Imagine about it. The normal visitor searches by theme, not by correct name. So why it may seem cool to have a name corresponding Jack'sLinux. com, you'll wish to select a name that contains keywords that your intended spectators would likely use when they search.

So with that in thinking, a name like Begin-using-Linux. com would be much enhanced than Jack'sLinux. com. Sure, you can still list your corporation name on your web pages, but I think it's more important to make sure the domain name consist of your eminent ';search friendly'; keywords if you want to receive traffic from all over.

No doubt, you can still register your firm name on the web site some area, but your domain name will consist of all the significant keywords you'll want to be found with.

Can you give me some advice on fitness...?

I have just joined my local gym, but didn't get any advice from any of the staff when I asked them. I am 5ft and weigh 64kg, I am planning on going to the gym 3 times a week and am following a healthy calorie controled diet.

At the gym I do the rowing machine for ten minutes, treadmill for 30 minutes, 100 sit-ups, exercise bike for 15-20 minutes and weights. How long will it take me to get down to a healthy weight of 47-50kg?

ThanksCan you give me some advice on fitness...?
It depends on a number of things:

The number of calories you are consuming

The make up of those calories

The intensity of your exercise programme

    Your metabolic rate

Calories are essential because if you eat too few, this is worse than eating too many. So you need to eat around 1250 calories a day on sedentary days (i.e. days where you don't go to the gym) and 1500 calories on the days you do go to the gym. Otherwise you risk too big a calorie deficit and when this happens, your body will go into starvation mode.

The make up of your calories are important because if you eat too much fat or junk food, not only will you not learn healthy eating habits that you can take with you through life, you risk laying down more fat and not burning your glycogen stores when you work out. For this reason, focus on getting your calories from fibre rich, low fat foods (non-processed is best) so that you can re-educate your stomach and eyes for the long term.

Exercise intensity is critical if you want to shed weight. Each time you go to the gym, you should try to push yourself a bit harder. I am not talking about working out for longer, I am talking about doing more in the available time. So, if you walk at 5.5 kph, try to walk at 5.7 kph, then 6 kph. Or add an incline to the treadmill, which will force you to work harder. In order to burn fat, I strongly recommend that you acquaint yourself with a machine called an elliptical trainer or cross trainer. Some people refer to it as a skiing machine. This gives a great all over workout (make sure you use the machine with the push-pull bars to work the arms) and is low impact, so it is kind to your knees. Try to do 20 minutes on this during your workouts - build up to it.

Finally, your basal metabolic rate is important because it dictates the speed at which you burn calories. This is the reason why your trainers couldn't really answer your question - we all have different basal metabolic rates. Weight training will increase your metabolic rate but there are also eating tips that can help, such as eating 6 small meals a day instead of 3 and doing aerobic training on an empty stomach. Do not, whatever you do, take supplements that promise to speed weight loss. Chances are you will be left with metabolic problems for a while after discontinuing them - the last thing you need.

Asking how long it will take you to lose weight is like asking how long a piece of string is. Based on what you have said, you are about 14 - 17 kg overweight (around 30 - 37lbs). Being modest, you can expect to be at goal in about 9 months. However, I would expect you to get there in (at the most) half that time. This is based on you losing, on average, 2 lbs a week. Everyone is different which is possibly why your gym instructors do not want to give you any numbers. They just don't know, is the problem!

Good luck with this! Can you give me some advice on fitness...?
hey dude controlling oer ur diet wont help as per my advice exercise wil help u nd in cas u want 2 increase ur height try 2 hav a gud posture avoid fast food
A lot depends on what you eat in your controlled diet. You want to cut back on sugar, saturated fat, alcohol and starches. Smaller portions. The brief description you gave sounds like a healthy plan that controls calorie intake while exercising regularly but not excessively. Slowly increase your time on the bike to 30-40 minutes. This can produce an average weight loss of .4 kg each week. So plan on staying with your regimen for 30-40 weeks. Good luck!
I can't tell you how long it will take, that depends on too many things that I don't know. With all of the different variables, it could be any length of time.

The important thing is that you enjoy it! Don't look at it like this: I have a goal, so as soon as I reach it, I'll stop going to the gym. You'll gain the weight back, and keep in the cycle until you get frustrated and angry and stay fat.

Learn to change your lifestyle totally. Not to reach a goal, but to make a new you. The weight will follow. I hope you are following your new diet (by new diet I mean a new way to eat for the rest of your life, not a fad diet). Good luck with these new changes, you will start to feel a lot better, and in time look a lot better too!
Change your gym, you should have had an induction, by law !!!!
Best not to go too mad on the diet and start exercise at the same time. Just eat sensibly and cut down portions and snacks when you start exercise. I am a great believer in doing more and eating less instead of paying through the nose to slimming groups! Try and vary what you do each time you go to the gym or you'll soon get bored. So maybe cardiovascular one visit and weights and toning the nextn and a mix on the next. Try and mix it up. It's taken me six weeks to lose a stone and a bit so don't expect instant miracles it could take a while. You'll lose loads at first then it drops off a little slower, you need to chose a diet that is enjoyable and you can use for the long term or any good practise you get into could be undone very quickly. Hope this is helpful

I am 25 weeks pregnant with my first child, I am so nervous i cant think Straight, Do you have any advice.?

I don't no what to expect with the labor pains and the pain after you have the baby, I need some good answer.I am 25 weeks pregnant with my first child, I am so nervous i cant think Straight, Do you have any advice.?
My biggest fear in life was child birth. No kidding. I was terrified when I accidentaly got pregnant. I always wanted a child but did NOT want to have the baby. Well, the hospitol I went to did not offer epidurals! So I went all natural no pain meds at all. And honestly. It sucked. It hurt, but not as bad as I thougth. The labor was not that bad b/c the pain only lasts for a min and then your fine. The worst part was the last 3 contractions those really hurt but again only last for a minute. That is the best part you know its going to end unlike a broken arm a contraction ends real quick.

The pushing was hard b/c I didn't know what I was doing. The best way to describe is to push like your pooping. You use the same muscles. And that part is almost a relief b/c it means no more contractions and your almost going to see your baby.

I honestly am planning on having another baby and going natural b/c it really was not THAT bad. I mean dont' get me wrong it hurt but your a woman you can handle it. And just getting to see your baby for the first time is soooooooo worth any pain you can imagine.

Good luck! Enjoy being pregnant dont' worry about the labor until your there b/c there is nothing you can do about it now.I am 25 weeks pregnant with my first child, I am so nervous i cant think Straight, Do you have any advice.?
Hi. I am 26 weeks with my first child. Honestly, you are going to worry and be nervous. It's natural.

I am currently taking a Childbirth Preparation class through the hospital where I will give birth to my son. It is helping a lot. They walk us through what we can expect for the pregnancy, the birth, and after. They are also going to give us a tour of the maternity unit, and they will go through basic childcare stuff like diapering, bonding, etc.

I highly recommend taking a similar class if that is an option for you.
I am pregnant myself and I am going through pains I can't even explain. Although I have never had a child before I am found myself asking the same question. My friend just had her baby 6 months ago and she said that it wasn't as bad as she expected it to be. She got an epidurel though. My othe friend had 2 kids and she said they both hurt like hell but afterward it isn't bad, you just can't have sex for six weeks.. or use tampons. I also heard you bleed for a while afterward too. I am not looking forward to any of that and I am sure you aren't either!

Good Luck and God Bless! May God Bless you with a healthy baby and easy pregnancy!
Don't worry your going to be fine. Im not going to sugar coat it yes, its going to hurt. Im 7mts with my 5th full term pregnancy. The previous 4 I did natural. Natural meaning without any pain meds. Since this is the last one Im going to try the epidural. The pain you will feel is like a bad menstrual cramp. You can ease the pain by moving around to your side and walking if you still can. The pushing hurts a little bit. Until you get the head out. By then your numb and wont notice the rest so much. As soon as you hear the baby cry all the pain you've been thru goes away. I was up walking around after a few hours after everyone of my babies. The worst thing you can do is lay in bed and relax. Remember pain is a mind over matter thing at times. You have to train your body for the late nights and up and downs. I suggest if you have a vaginal birth to relax in bed for a few hours after. then get up and start walking. Walk a little bit then go lay back down. Next time you get up walk a little farther. Believe me you will be fine.... Good luck and congrats
Basically, don't think about it, otherwise you will drive yourself crazy. Go to a good birthing class and make sure your partner is prepared to be a good coach for you. After you get to the hospital ask for pain meds, and they will help you as best as they can. Plus, you may be one of the lucky ones that barely feels anything, 5 pushes and baby is out! Good luck!
Just relax and enjoy this time. This is the best time of your life. Keep up with your dr appts, get plenty of rest, a good balanced diet and plenty of walking. Everyone's labor is different so there's not really a way to comfort you on that. I sat and talked through my labor pains. Everytime a contraction came I just held my breath. I was terrified with my first because of all the horror stories I heard but my labor was no where close to the stories. Congrats...
I suggest talking to other mothers that you know in your life - your mom, aunts, sisters, friends, etc. Everyone has a different experience, so no one can say what it will be like for you. Read some books, look stuff up on the web. Babycenter.com has some good info for pregnancy and babies. Good luck!
calm down and don't watch the TLC channel because it will give you the jitters and will make you that much more nervous. I did and I was scared out of my senses, but on the other hand it is educational but go to prenatal classes.
Try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy. Do things like getting scrap book stuff together or journal.
    Try to walk much
